Our Justice....Blindfolded

I used to visit Brasilia when I was little (and when the city was much different, less cars, less people...). One night I was in front of the Supreme Court and saw The Justice (pictured below, from Alfredo Ceschiatti), and was amased that she was blindfolded. I asked my father and he then explained what it meant.
Later on that year, back in my hometown, I had to get into the Forum (our Supreme Court) and I was wearing shorts. The security man said I could not get in, unless I change to a skirt or trousers. I was only 12...and asked him: "But isn´t the Justice blind?"
