Our Justice....Blindfolded

I used to visit Brasilia when I was little (and when the city was much different, less cars, less people...). One night I was in front of the Justice Palace and saw The Justice (pictured below), and was amased that she was blindfolded. I asked my father and he then explained what it meant.
Later on that year, back in my hometown, I had to get into the Forum (our Justice Palace) and I was wearing shorts. The security man said I could not get in, unless I change to a skirt or trousers. I was only 12...and asked him: "But isn´t the Justice blind?"

When I was planning my trip to La Antigua Guatemala, I found this incredible blog called Antigua Daily Photo. I loved the idea and begun to visit it everyday. When I´ve got there, sometimes I would just see a place I´ve seen before in pictures and smile. I´ve decided I would do the same when getting back home, which took me a while to effectively do.

Nowadays I receive a picture a day in my mailbox from La Antigua Guatemala, and it continues to make me smile, this time with good memories. Today the post there is Photographing the Photographers. This reminded me of the picture below, which I have taken in Brasília some months ago.

These three angels, hanging (or flying) from the ceiling were designed by Alfredo Ceschiatti in collaboration with Dante Croce, in 1970.

For me the most beautifull building in Brasília, it was designed by Oscar Niemeyer. It´s construction started in 1958, the main structure was ready in 1960, and was inaugurated in 1970.
It has been forgotten by the government for quite some time, but now it is getting a much deserved refurbishment, getting ready for the city´s 50th anniversary in 2010.
